Welcome to RedTIE Theatre
Based on the Isle of Wight, RedTIE Theatre aims to support the education of young people whilst encouraging creativity and self-expression through Drama.
RedTIE workshops are designed and led by Helen Reading who is a qualified secondary school teacher and has been teaching Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, Citizenship and PHSE since 2001.
Helen is an examiner for Edexcel GCSE
Drama and has run Youth Theatre groups at the Apollo Theatre in
Newport and currently runs Saturday Youth workshops at Nodehill
Middle School.
With her students she has created and directed Anti-bullying performances and Forum theatre pieces for schools and conferences.
Helen has been an active member of the Apollo Theatre in Newport where she has played many leading roles since she joined in 1997. In 2001 and 2005 she won The County Press Awards for Best Actress. She has attended courses at the National Theatre in London on Forum theatre, Directing skills and Acting skills.
Helen has also run Drama workshops for adults at the Apollo Theatre, Bembridge Little Theatre, The Riverside Centre and at the Quay Arts Centre. More theatre training for adults starts soon and private tuition is available on request for all ages.
