Isle of Wight County Press Amateur Theatre Awards 2009

RedTIE Theatre virtually swept the board as all the 5 major awards found themselves in RedTIE hands! Adding to the 2008 award for Best Light Entertainment from the RedTIE students, we were proud winners of:

Best Female Lead – Helen Reading for her role as Sibyl in The Filibuster

Best Male Lead – awarded posthumously to Kevin Mitchell for his role as John in the Filibuster

Best Director – Joe Plumb for Five Kinds of Silence

Best Play – The Filibuster written by local playwright Hazel Wyld

Special Award for Services to Island Amateur Theatre – Steve & Helen Reading
